Progress Review Day

Please could I start by thanking all those families who attended our recent Progress Review Day and those who could not attend on the day who have since met with their child’s form tutor.

On the day we were able to maintain a Covid secure environment, using a range of locations for the appointments. The atmosphere was extremely positive throughout the day in all locations, supported by our Year 10 Young Leaders and our Language Ambassadors from a variety of year groups.

Throughout the day it was great to see face to face conversations taking place that build upon our ‘Positive Parenting’ ethos between home and tutors. These conversations were about students’ performance, their strengths, areas for development and what key next steps need to be made in order to meet the targets set.

These meetings also allowed staff to share and gain feedback on the changes to the Attitude to Learning criteria, the updated PSHCE syllabus and the adapted Attendance Policy.

Since then staff voice has commented on how students have responded in lesson to the feedback given and the challenge and support that this entails. This, along with the learning environment our staff and students create and the full range of extra-curricular provision our students can access to develop their talents, interests, skills and ability, really does ensure that our students continue to have a bright future and are ready for life beyond MSM by the end of Year 11.

Finally, the attendance of parents and carers on the day was 97% and it’s now at 99%, our student attendance of 96% and our staff attendance is 98%, really does show how Mount St Mary’s, working in partnership, is truly ‘stronger together’ in serving our community.
