Information and Instructions to support students and parents to complete work will be given below. This page is organised subject by subject.
ENGLISH – English Language: Students have been given a series of lessons to complete that are based on the GCSE paper skills. Students should complete two writing tasks and use a mark scheme to mark their work. English Literature: Students have been given a series of revision tasks based on their literature texts, They should complete a number of questions which should be lengthy and considered. All texts are available in PDF form online through Google.
MATHS – Students have been provided with a work pack to work towards their next module please work through.
SCIENCE – Students have been given work around the key concepts in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Students should choose either Biology, Chemistry or Physics and pick a topic from paper 1 on the assessment sheet. They should then use the exemplar provided as an example and create their own set of tasks or questions. They should use their homework books and Science websites to revisit work. Once complete they should create a poster or flash cards highlighting the key concepts of the topic.
RE – Students have been given a research task on their next unit of study which is Life and Death. Students should find out about the beliefs of Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Buddhism. Students can present their research in a format they choose – PowerPoint, Word Document, Fact-file, Mind-map etc… You should consider the presentation of your work – Use images, pictures and colour.
3D – Each Student has had a 1 to 1 and have been given individual feedback that they need to work on. This feedback has been printed and can be found in their folders.
ART – Students should continue working on their Unit 1 portfolio completing their sketchbook work for the project order and disorder. They should follow their help sheet packs to explore and experiment and develop their project towards the planning of a proposed final piece.
BUSINESS – Activity 1 – Students should spend 1 hour revising for Paper 1. Students should then complete Paper 1 timing that they take no longer than 1h 30mins. Activity 2 – Students should spend 1 hour revising for Paper 2 then complete Paper 2 timing that they take no longer than 1h 30mins. Activity 3 – Interest rate questions. Use a calculator to complete this exercise.
CITIZENSHIP – Students have been advised to keep up to date with News stories and keep a record of current affairs.
COMPUTER SCIENCE – Students should use the Smart Revise website to complete tasks and watch online tutorials.
FRENCH – Students should revise the following topics – Talking about yourself, Numbers, Days of the week/months and seasons, Sport and Hobbies and Technology, Cinema and TV, House and Home, Food and Drink, Celebration and Customs, Holidays, Present tense regular and irregular verb endings, Jouer,faire, aller conjugation, The Perfect Tense (Passé Composé) and The Future Tense. GEOGRAPHY – Students should complete “Hot Deserts” homework pages 40 to 41
HISTORY – Students should complete the Elizabethan England booklet pages 22 to 30.
HOSPITALITY – Students should use the worksheets to make revision notes for the external Unit 1 Exam. Students have also been sent their books so they can prepare their time plans for the practical exam.
ICT – Students should complete up to page 50 in their purple homework booklets. Answers are in the back to check understanding.
PERFORMING ARTS – Students should complete their study of Les Misérables using the same template used for the Cats PowerPoint
SPORT – Currently students are preparing for the external examination. Students have been set work on the ever learner website and should watch the lessons and complete the practice questions. At the end they should sit a checkpoint test.
