IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM MR COOPER – Tuesday 12th May
As you will all be aware Central Government shared their road map for the coming weeks of lockdown. This includes preliminary suggestions around face to face contact with high school students (we believe this to be Y10). At this stage we are receiving daily clarification and expectations which are being assessed and interpreted for our community. As soon as there is any change expected to our provision we will share plans and protocols with you directly.
In the immediate future THERE IS NO CHANGE TO OUR CURRENT PROVISION. We continue to provide for the children of key workers and for those classed as vulnerable (see definitions below). We do not anticipate any quick changes to this position.
Thank you for your continued support for your children and of course ourselves in our endeavours to provide learning opportunities and support of the highest quality.
DEFINITION OF VULNERABLE STUDENTS
During the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak vulnerable children and young people are defined as those who:
- are assessed as being in need under section 17 of the Children Act 1989, including children who have a child in need plan, a child protection plan or who are a looked-after child
- have an education, health and care (EHC) Plan whose needs cannot be met safely in the home environment
- have been assessed as otherwise vulnerable by education providers or local authorities (including children’s social care services), and who are therefore in need of continued education provision. This might include children on the edge of receiving support from children’s social care services, adopted children, or those who are young carers, and others at the provider and local authority discretion
Below follows a summary of governmental advice as best fits our community. To ensure the safety of all students individual decisions for each student wishing to attend provision have been taken by the school in consultation with families. We are working incredibly hard to support all families as best we can, within the constraints of government guidance, however attendance to school provision cannot be guaranteed and those who feel they qualify for support should contact your child’s specific welfare@ email address in the first instance:
